Wax box September 2015

I have to admit that I have never really thought about trying to keep things simple in my life.
Which is stupid to the nth degree.

So as well as starting the blog and readying myself and my son to start nursery I also decided to subscribe to a few new wax boxes so that I can review them.
The first of these to arrive is this box which is the wax box from www.waxbox.co.uk.
This box costs £10 plus £3.95 and includes small candles and wax melts.

This is my first box and it is the September 2015 box. And here are the contents:

The first item in the box is the Baked Apple wax melt by Heart & Home

It has a eight hour fragrance time and on cold sniff it has a true to life apple scent with hint of spice. It makes me think of Apple crumbles and apple pies and is my favourite item in the box and has a scent I love.

The next item is the only candle in the box and is the frosted forest candle by Pintail Candles.

This has a very subtle scent and is fruity but floral and isn't too green in scent compared to a christmas tree scent from somewhere like Yankee candles although the green element in the scent may be stronger when it is lit.

On the card that detailed what was in this box the people who run wax box said they included a fruity melt in the hopes that we would get more warm sunny days.

This was the melt that that eluded too and these melts are by wild-olive and are made in England with natural ingredients and are in the scent pomegranate.
It has a burn time of ten hours and contain no parabens or toxins.
To me on cold sniff they smell floral and fruity but not really too much like pomegranate, although pomegranates don't last too long in our house as I love eating the seeds so so much.
They are very much a summer scent though due to the floral edge.

The next item is by Secret scents and is a 100% soy wax melt in raisin bread. This is a rich bakery scent that reminds me of baking fruit bread in the winter.
It is really rich and decadent and will be a great departure from the spicy and fruity scents that I generally burn.
A great scent of cold sniff and will melt well as it has a soy base.

The final item in the box is the angel whisper melt from Aromaflow and this is fresh scent with slight floral tones on cold sniff. It would be great to give a gentle scent in the background is unlikely to upset anyone but to me the fresh scents are not scents I seek out as I like bold scents.
But this is great to recieve in a box as I get to try something different.

There are all the contents from this box. This has a good selection of products and there are loads of hours burn time in this box.
My favourites are definitely the raisin bread and baked apple scents as I like my foodie scents but I will use it all and it is great to be introuced to five brands I have never used or heard of before.
A great box. Roll on next month.

Thankyou for reading and I hope that you are having a lovely day.

What am I burning today? Yankee candles turquoise sky

I am currently burning this small jar from Yankee in turquoise sky and have been for a few days. This has a burn time to 25 to 40 hours and I think that it will get the higher of the range as it is burning well and evenly.
It is a turquoise blue and you get definitely see that there is a lot of oils in the candle as the colour in the candle vary so much.

To me, this has a fresh scent with marine elements. It smells 'green' like seaweed but equally it seems like I can smell the sea and the salt in the sea.
It is definitely a seaside scent and although I am very much a spice, food or fruit girl in terms of candles I really like this scent as it is fresh but not boring and has a great scent throw even in the small jar.
It is calming but refreshing and is like a walk on the summer beach.
It makes me wonder how well the melt would throw too to be honest.

I would recommend it though and if I saw it for a good price I would buy it as it is a great summer scent without venturing too far into the floral territory.
